This isn't your ordinary tostada! Get ready to elevate your tostada game with a fusion of Japanese and Mexican cuisine. This recipe features a crispy base of sushi rice topped with a deliciously spicy tuna mix and fresh garnishes. Perfect for a light lunch or as an appetizer at your next gathering!

Ingredients:

For the Tostada
🍣 Cooked sushi rice

For the Tuna
🐟 1 can of tuna in water
🥢 1/2 teaspoon of soy sauce
🍶 1 tablespoon of Kewpie mayonnaise
🌶 1 tablespoon of sriracha
🥢 1 tablespoon of green onions, chopped

For Topping
🥑 Avocado, sliced
⚪️ Black and white sesame seeds
🥢 Green onions, chopped
🥒 Pickled ginger


Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Sushi Rice Tostada Base:
    • Spread a thin layer of cooked sushi rice over a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
    • Press down to form flat, round discs about the size of a tostada.
    • Optional: Bake in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 10-15 minutes until slightly crisped for added texture. Set aside to cool.
  2. Prepare the Spicy Tuna:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine the canned tuna (drained) with soy sauce, Kewpie mayonnaise, sriracha, and chopped green onions. Mix gently until well combined.
  3. Assemble the Tostadas:
    • Place a generous spoonful of the spicy tuna mix on each rice disc.
    • Top with slices of avocado, a sprinkle of sesame seeds, additional green onions, and pickled ginger for an extra zing.
  4. Serve and Enjoy:
