Ingredients:
🥩 2 cups leftover shredded beef (or any other beef steak)
🌿 1/2 cup cilantro (chopped)
🧅 1/2 cup onion (chopped)
🧀 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
🥟 Wonton wrappers
💧 Water for sealing
Instructions:
- Prepare the Filling:
- Start by chopping your leftover shredded beef or any cooked beef steak into smaller pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped beef, cilantro, chopped onion, and shredded Monterey Jack cheese.
- Assemble the Wontons:
- Take a wonton wrapper and place it on a clean surface.
- Spoon about a tablespoon of the beef mixture into the center of the wrapper.
- Dip your finger in water and moisten all edges of the wonton wrapper.
- Fold the wrapper in half diagonally to form a triangle, pressing the edges together to seal. Ensure there are no air pockets.
- Optionally, fold the two corners of the triangle towards the center to create a boat shape. Let the assembled wontons rest for at least five minutes to seal properly.
- Cook the Wontons:
- Heat a bit of oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Once the oil is hot, add the wontons and fry them until they turn golden brown, approximately 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove them from the pan and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
- Serve:
- Serve the wontons warm with your choice of salsa and some guacamole on the side.
