Camarones a la Parrilla, or Grilled Spicy Shrimp Skewers, is a delicious and aromatic dish bursting with vibrant flavors. Perfect for a casual BBQ or a festive dinner, these marinated shrimps bring together the zest of citrus, the kick of spicy sauces, and the smooth richness of butter. Serve these skewers over rice or in tacos for a meal that will transport your taste buds to the coastal regions of Latin America.
Ingredients:
🍤 35 shrimps (shell on and deveined)
🧂 1 tsp of salt
⚪ 1 tsp of white pepper
🧄 2 tsp of garlic powder
🧅 2 tsp of onion powder
🌶️ 2 tbsp of Jugo Maggi Hot & Spicy
🍅 8 tbsp of Salsa Valentina
🍊 1 orange (juiced)
🍋 2 limes (juiced)
🧈 4 tbsp of melted butter
Instructions:
- Prep the Shrimp:
Begin by deveining and rinsing the shrimp. Pat them dry with a paper towel to remove any excess moisture.
- Marinate:
In a large bowl, combine the shrimp with salt, white pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, Jugo Maggi Hot & Spicy, and Salsa Valentina. Pour in the freshly squeezed orange and lime juice, then add the melted butter. Mix everything thoroughly to ensure the shrimp are well-coated. Cover the bowl and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for enhanced flavor.
- Prepare the Skewers:
Once marinated, thread 4 shrimps onto each skewer, reserving any leftover marinade for basting.
- Grill the Shrimp:
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Place the shrimp skewers on the grill and cook them for about 5 to 7 minutes. Turn the skewers occasionally and brush them with the reserved marinade to keep them moist and flavorful.
- Serve:
Remove the skewers from the grill and serve the shrimp hot. They make a perfect topping for rice or a flavorful filling for tacos. Enjoy!
Cooking Tips:
- For an extra smoky flavor, consider grilling over a charcoal flame.
- If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes prior to grilling to prevent burning.
