Ingredients

🥩 1 pound ground beef
🧂 1/4 tsp salt
🧂 1/4 tsp black pepper
🧂 1/4 tsp celery salt
🌿 1/4 tsp cumin
🌿 1/4 tsp Mexican oregano
🧄 1/4 tsp garlic powder
🧅 1/4 tsp onion powder
🐔 1/4 tsp chicken bouillon
🌶️ 1 tsp paprika
🥓 1 tbsp pork lard
🫘 1 can refried beans
🥑 1 (15oz) jar of "On the Border" guacamole salsa
🍶 Mexican crema
🥬 Shredded cabbage
🍅 Diced tomato
🧀 Queso fresco
🌽 1 bag of "On the Border" home style tortilla chips


Instructions

1- Prepare the Ground Beef

  • In a skillet, add a little bit of oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and break it apart.
  • Season with salt, black pepper, celery salt, cumin, Mexican oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, chicken bouillon, and paprika.
  • Cook the beef until it's fully browned and the spices are well incorporated. Set aside.

2- Cook the Refried Beans

  • In a separate pan, melt the pork lard over medium heat. Add the canned refried beans and stir occasionally until heated through.

3- Layering the Dip

  • In a serving dish, create the first layer by spreading the warmed refried beans evenly.
  • Add a layer of the cooked ground beef on top of the beans.
  • Pour the guacamole salsa over the beef for the next layer.
  • Drizzle Mexican crema over the salsa.
  • Garnish with shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes, and crumbled queso fresco.

4- Serve

  • Serve immediately with "On the Border" home-style tortilla chips on the side for dipping.
