Fried Paleta Payaso
Discover the delightful twist on a classic Mexican candy with this Fried Paleta Payaso recipe. These delectable treats are marshmallow lollipops coated with chocolate and gummies, deep-fried to perfection for a unique dessert experience.
Ingredients
🍬 1 Paleta Payaso (big marshmallow covered with chocolate)
🥚 1 egg
🥞 2 cups of pancake mix
💧 1 cup of water (adjust as needed)
🌡️ Deep frying oil
Instructions
1- Preparation of the Candy:
- Remove the plastic stick from the Paleta Payaso and replace it with a wooden stick or skewer. This will provide a sturdy handle for frying.
- Place the Paleta Payaso in a sealable bag and freeze it for at least four hours. This will help the candy hold its shape during frying.
2- Prepare the Batter:
- In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of pancake mix with 1 egg.
- Gradually add 1 cup of water to the mixture, stirring continuously until you achieve a smooth, thick batter. The consistency should be slightly thicker than regular pancake batter to ensure it adheres to the candy.
3- Fry the Candy:
- Heat deep frying oil in a pot or fryer to medium heat.
- Remove the frozen Paleta Payaso from the freezer and dunk it into the batter, ensuring it's fully coated.
- Carefully place the battered candy into the hot oil and fry for about 4 minutes, turning occasionally until the batter is golden brown.
- Be cautious when handling the fried candy, as the inside will be melted and very hot.
4- Serve:
- Allow the fried Paleta Payaso to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy this sweet, gooey treat with caution, as it is deliciously hot inside!
