Truffle Green Bean Casserole is an elevated twist on a classic side dish. Perfect for special occasions or a cozy family dinner, this recipe combines creamy textures with the rich, aromatic flavor of truffles. Let’s transform your typical casserole into a gourmet delight!

Ingredients

🍚 1 block of cream cheese
🥣 1 cup of chicken or vegetable stock
🍄 1 truffle or truffle product for flavor
🛢️ Cooking oil
🧈 8 tablespoons of butter, divided
🌿 1 pound fresh green beans
🧀 1 cup of Oaxaca cheese
🌾 3 tablespoons of flour
🍄 1 can of sliced mushrooms
🧅 1 pack of crispy fried onions

Instructions

1- Prep the Sauce:

  • In a blender, combine the block of cream cheese and 1 cup of chicken or vegetable stock. Add your truffle product to taste. Blend until smooth to create a creamy truffle sauce.

2- Sauté the Green Beans:

  • In a large pan, heat a little cooking oil and add 4 tablespoons of butter. Add the fresh green beans and sauté until they are slightly tender. Season to taste.

3- Combine with Sauce and Cheese:

  • Add the blended truffle sauce to the green beans. Stir in 1 cup of Oaxaca cheese, allowing it to melt and mix thoroughly.

4- Prepare the Mushroom Mixture:

  • In a separate small saucepan, melt the remaining 4 tablespoons of butter. Stir in 3 tablespoons of flour to create a roux. Add this roux to the pan with the green beans and sauce. Then, mix in the can of sliced mushrooms.

5- Bake the Casserole:

  • Transfer the mixture to an oven-safe dish. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 10 minutes, until the top is slightly golden and bubbling.

6- Add Crispy Topping:

  • Remove the casserole from the oven and sprinkle generously with crispy fried onions. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to toast the onions lightly.

7- Serve and Enjoy:

  • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. This dish is best enjoyed warm as a side dish alongside your favorite mains.
