Whip up a fun, bite-sized treat that's perfect for any party or a quick snack! These Mini Smoky Hot Dog Delights are easy to make and sure to be a crowd-pleaser. With the classic combination of bread, smoked sausages, ketchup, and mustard, this simple recipe brings a touch of gourmet to the beloved hot dog.
Ingredients:
🥖 1 pack of French bread
🌭 1 pack of cocktail smoked sausages (smokies)
🍅 Ketchup, to taste
🌭 Mustard, to taste
🧂 Non-stick cooking spray (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- If you haven't already, line a sheet pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking. You may also lightly spray it with non-stick cooking spray for extra assurance.
- Take the French bread and slice it in half lengthwise.
- Cut the halves to a length slightly longer than your cocktail smoked sausages.
- Place the bread pieces onto the prepared sheet pan and bake in the oven for 10 minutes, or until they are crispy and golden brown.
- Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool down. Then, slice each piece halfway through its thickness, similar to opening up a hot dog bun, ensuring not to cut all the way through.
- Place the cocktail smoked sausages in a zip-top bag and microwave them for one minute or until they're heated through.
- Insert the warmed sausages into the sliced bread pieces.
- Drizzle ketchup and mustard over the sausages according to your preference.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your Mini Smoky Hot Dog Delights!
