Ingredients
🌶️ 4 guajillo peppers
🌶️ 1 ancho pepper
🌶️ 5 chiles de arbol
🧂 2.5 teaspoons of salt
🍋 1 teaspoon of citric acid
🍋 Fresh limes (quantity as desired)
🍬 Sugar (to taste)
🏺 Chamoy sauce (to taste, optional)
Instructions
1- Prepare the Chili Powder:
- Dehydrate the guajillo peppers, ancho pepper, and chiles de arbol by placing them in a food dehydrator at 145°F (about 63°C) for 6 hours.
- Once dehydrated, grind the peppers into a fine powder using a spice grinder or blender.
- Mix the pepper powder with salt and citric acid to create your homemade chili spice blend.
2- Prepare the Limes:
- Peel the limes and slice them into thin, bite-sized pieces.
- In a bowl, combine the lime slices with sugar and chamoy sauce, adjusting the quantities to match your taste preference.
3- Assemble the Snack:
- Sprinkle the homemade chili powder over the lime mixture, tossing gently to ensure even coating.
- Serve immediately and enjoy the sweet, sour, and spicy flavors playing on your palate.
