Churros
Bring a taste of authentic Spanish street food to your kitchen with these luscious Dulce de Leche Churros. Crispy on the outside and filled with a creamy sweet center, these churros are perfect for any celebration or a special treat.
Ingredients
- 🍚 2 cups of flour
- 🍬 2 tablespoons of cinnamon sugar
- 🧂 1 teaspoon of salt
- 🍦 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 🧈 1 stick of butter, melted
- 💧 1 cup of boiling water
- 🥚 2 eggs
- 🥫 1 can of dulce de leche
- 🍬 1 cup of cinnamon sugar (for coating)
- 🧴 Cooking oil
Instructions
1- Prep the Dry Ingredients:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, 2 tablespoons of cinnamon sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix until thoroughly combined.
2- Incorporate the Butter:
- Add the melted stick of butter to the dry ingredients mixture. Stir gently to integrate the butter.
3- Add Boiling Water:
- Gradually pour in 1 cup of boiling water. Mix until the dough starts to clean the bowl and forms a smooth, cohesive ball.
4- Mix in the Eggs:
- In a small bowl, whisk the eggs until fully combined, then incorporate them into the dough mixture. Stir vigorously to ensure no lumps remain.
5- Prepare for Frying:
- Spoon the dough into a piping bag fitted with a star-shaped nozzle.
6- Frying Churros:
- In a deep pan, heat cooking oil over medium heat. Once heated, carefully pipe and cut the churros into the oil using scissors. Fry until each side is golden brown.
7- Coating and Filling:
- As the churros come out of the oil, roll them in a bowl filled with 1 cup of cinnamon sugar for a generous coating.
8- Fill with Dulce de Leche:
- Using a chopstick, poke a hole through each churro. Fill a piping bag with dulce de leche, and carefully pipe the filling into each churro.
9- Serve:
- Serve warm and enjoy every bite of these rich, sweet treats.
