Ingredients
🥮 4 cups Kataifi pastry (shredded phyllo dough)
🧈 4 tbsp of unsalted butter
🥜 1 cup of pistachio butter
🍯 4 tbsp of tahini
🥜 1/4 cup of chopped pistachios
🥛 2 cups of heavy whipping cream
🍚 4 tbsp of white sugar
🍓 1 lb fresh strawberries, diced
🍫 16 oz (1 lb) Dark chocolate
🥥 2 tbsp of coconut oil
Instructions
1- Prepare the Kataifi Pastry:
Chop the kataifi pastry into small, manageable pieces.
In a medium pan over medium heat, melt the butter.
Add the kataifi and toast it until it becomes golden brown and crispy.
Once done, set it aside to cool.
2- Mix the Base Layer:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled kataifi, chopped pistachios, pistachio butter, and tahini.
Stir until all the ingredients are well-incorporated, forming a consistent mixture.
3- Prepare the Whipped Cream:
In a separate bowl, combine the heavy whipping cream and sugar.
Using a mixer or immersion blender, whip the mixture until it thickens, ensuring it’s not over-whipped to a fluffy consistency.
4- Melt the Chocolate:
Break the dark chocolate into pieces and place it in a heatproof bowl.
Add the coconut oil.
Melt the chocolate using the double boiler method over simmering water, stirring until smooth.
Alternatively, microwave the chocolate in 20-second intervals, stirring each time, until fully melted.
5- Assemble the Dessert:
In individual cups or serving glasses, layer the ingredients starting with the kataifi mixture.
Follow with a layer of melted chocolate and diced strawberries.
Top with a generous spoonful of the whipped cream.
6- Finish and Serve:
Garnish the tops with additional chopped pistachios for an elegant touch.
Serve immediately for a delightful combination of textures and flavors.
