Roasted Asian Brussels Sprouts
Elevate your Brussels sprouts with an Asian twist! This recipe brings together savory flavors, creamy Japanese mayo, and a hint of sweetness to create a delectable side dish that pairs perfectly with any main course.
Ingredients
🥬 1 lb Brussels sprouts
🥢 2 tablespoons sesame oil
🧂 1 teaspoon kosher salt
🍶 2 tablespoons Japanese mayonnaise (Kewpie)
🍯 2 tablespoons okonomi sauce
🍙 1 tablespoon furikake rice seasoning (with bonito fish flakes)
🌿 1 tablespoon black sesame seeds
Instructions
Prepare the Brussels Sprouts:
Start by washing and trimming 1 lb of Brussels sprouts. Remove any yellow or damaged outer leaves, and cut off the stem ends.
Slice each Brussels sprout in half.
Season the Brussels Sprouts:
Place the halved Brussels sprouts in a large bowl.
Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of sesame oil and sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of kosher salt.
Toss everything together until the Brussels sprouts are well coated in the oil and salt.
Roast the Brussels Sprouts:
Preheat the broiler on high and adjust the oven rack to the lower position.
Spread the seasoned Brussels sprouts evenly on a baking sheet.
Broil in the oven for about 15 minutes, turning halfway through, until the sprouts are golden brown and crispy.
Finish and Serve:
Once roasted, transfer the Brussels sprouts to a serving plate.
Drizzle the Brussels sprouts with 2 tablespoons of Japanese mayonnaise (Kewpie) and 2 tablespoons of okonomi sauce.
Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of furikake rice seasoning and 1 tablespoon of black sesame seeds.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
