Transforming a classic burger into a sizzling sensation, the Mexican-Style Flying Dutchman is a flavorful twist that combines rich, juicy sirloin steak, creamy guacamole, and melted Chihuahua cheese. Wrapped in grilled onions and topped with a tangy sauce, this dish offers a delightful Mexican twist to the traditional burger experience.

Ingredients:

🥩 2 sirloin steaks
🥑 1 cup guacamole
🧀 4 slices Chihuahua cheese
🥬 1 cup shredded lettuce
🧅 1 large onion (cut into thick slices)
🍅 2 tablespoons ketchup
🥪 1 tablespoon mayo
🌭 1 teaspoon mustard
🌶️ 1 teaspoon spicy sauce
🧂 Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, mix the ketchup, mayo, mustard, and spicy sauce until well combined. Set aside.
  2. Grill the Onion:
    • Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Add the onion slices and grill each side for about 3-4 minutes, until they develop grill marks and soften slightly. Remove and set aside.
  3. Cook the Sirloin Steaks:
    • Season the sirloin steaks generously with salt and pepper.
    • In the same grill or skillet, cook the steaks to your desired level of doneness (about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare).
    • In the final minute of cooking, place two slices of Chihuahua cheese on each steak to melt. Remove from heat.
  4. Assemble the Flying Dutchman:
    • Begin with a slice of grilled onion as the base.
    • Place one cheese-topped sirloin steak on the onion, spread guacamole over the steak, add a layer of lettuce, and top with another cheese-topped steak.
    • Generously drizzle the prepared sauce over the top, and cover with another slice of grilled onion.
  5. Serve:
    • Serve immediately while hot, with additional sauce on the side if desired.
