Ingredients:
🥐 1 tube of croissant dough sheet
🧅 1/4 cup chopped onion
🌶️ 1-2 chopped jalapeños, to taste
🐄 1 pack of cooked shredded beef
🧀 1 1/2 cups shredded Monterrey Jack cheese
🍯 Your favorite green salsa (to taste)
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes
Equipment: Cupcake pan, oven, chopping board, knife, grater (if cheese is not pre-shredded).
Servings: Makes 8-12 rolls, depending on size.
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 380°F (193°C).
- Unroll the croissant dough sheet onto a flat, clean surface. If there are any perforations, gently pinch them together to make a continuous dough sheet.
- Spread a layer of green salsa over the dough to your liking; this will add moisture and flavor to your rolls.
- Evenly sprinkle the chopped onion and jalapeños over the salsa-covered dough sheet, distributing the ingredients for balanced flavor in every bite.
- Layer the cooked shredded beef on top of the onions and jalapeños. Ensure it’s evenly spread so every roll will be packed with meaty goodness.
- Generously sprinkle shredded Monterrey Jack cheese over the beef. The cheese will melt into all the ingredients, creating a gooey, delicious filling.
- Starting from one end, carefully roll the dough sheet into a log, ensuring the fillings stay inside. Press lightly to seal the edge.
- Using a sharp knife, slice the log into 1 to 1 1/2-inch thick pieces.
- Place each piece into the cups of a cupcake pan. If you don’t have a cupcake pan, you can use a baking sheet but make sure to space them out nicely.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Let them cool for a couple of minutes before serving, as the cheese will be extremely hot.
Cooking Tips:
- Adjust the amount of green salsa and jalapeños according to your preference for spiciness.
- If you don’t have a cupcake pan, you can also place the rolls close together on a regular baking sheet to help them hold their shape.
