Ingredients

🧀 1 (16oz) whole mozzarella cheese
🌶️ 4 cups Takis, already ground
🥚 3 eggs
🌾 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
🌶️ 2 teaspoons paprika
🌶️ 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper


Instructions

1- Prepare the Cheese:

  • Slice the mozzarella cheese into circles and then cut each circle into half-moon shapes.
  • Place the cheese slices on a sheet pan, making sure they are not touching.
  • Wrap the sheet pan in plastic wrap and freeze the cheese slices for at least 2 hours.

2- Prepare the Takis Coating:

  • In a food processor, grind the Takis until they reach a fine crumb consistency. Set aside in a shallow dish.

3- Prepare the Breading Station:

  • In one bowl, beat the eggs thoroughly.
  • In a second bowl, mix the flour, paprika, and cayenne pepper.

4- Coat the Mozzarella Sticks:

  • Begin by dredging a frozen cheese slice in the flour mixture, making sure to coat all sides thoroughly.
  • Dip the floured cheese slice into the beaten eggs, ensuring an even coating.
  • Roll the cheese slice in the ground Takis, pressing gently to make sure the crumbs adhere well.
  • Repeat the process for all cheese slices.

5- Fry the Mozzarella Sticks:

  • Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot over medium-high heat.
  • Once the oil is hot, carefully add the breaded mozzarella sticks in batches.
  • Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Remove the sticks using a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

6- Serve:
