Ingredients:
🫒 1 tablespoon olive oil
🧈 3 tablespoons butter
🍚 1 cup white long-grain rice
🌶️ 1/4 green bell pepper, chopped
🧄 1 garlic clove, minced
🧅 1/2 shallot, finely chopped
🌿 1 teaspoon dill weed
💧 2 cups hot water
🐔 1 tablespoon chicken bouillon
🧂 Salt to taste
🥣 1/2 cup ranch dressing
🌿 3 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions:
- Heat the Oil and Butter:
In a medium-sized pot or skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over low to medium heat until the butter is fully melted and starts to foam. - Sauté the Vegetables:
Add the white long-grain rice to the pot. Stir in the chopped green bell pepper, minced garlic, and finely chopped shallot. Cook for about 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice is slightly toasted and the vegetables begin to soften. - Add Flavorings and Simmer:
Sprinkle the dill weed over the mixture. Pour in 2 cups of hot water and increase the heat to high. Add the chicken bouillon and a pinch of salt to taste. Stir well to combine. - Cook the Rice:
Once the mixture starts to boil, cover the pot with a lid and reduce the heat to very low. Allow the rice to simmer for 15-18 minutes, or until the water has been absorbed and the rice is tender. - Incorporate Ranch and Fresh Herbs:
Remove the pot from the heat and carefully add the ranch dressing. Sprinkle in the chopped fresh parsley and gently mix everything together to ensure the rice is evenly coated and creamy. - Serve and Enjoy:
Transfer the creamy ranch rice to a serving dish and enjoy it warm as a side or main dish. The rich combination of ranch and fresh herbs provides a unique flavor profile that complements many entrees.
